PUNUGULU
Tired of the day and just looking for a crispy snack, here it is - we call it as Punugulu in our state (Andhra) in India...follow me..
INGREDIENTS:
URAD DAL - 1 CUP
CURRY LEAVES - 1 STEM(CHOPPED)
GINGER - 1/2 INCH(CHOPPED)
ONION - 1 BIG (CHOPPED)
CARROT - 1 SMALL GRATED
GREEN CHILLIES - 3 BIG
OIL - FOR FRYING
SALT - TO TASTE
CORIANDER LEAVES - 1 CUP(CHOPPED)
First take a cup of urad dal and soak them in water nearly 2 hours
Now make medium batter by grinding (add very little water while preparing the batter) the dal.
Chop the onion, chillies, ginger, curry leaves, coriander leaves and carrot. Add little salt and mix all the chopped pieces to the batter.
Take a pan, add oil for frying, let it heat . Now take the batter into a small ball size and leave slowly into the oil. Let them fry into golden color.
Now remove into a plate. It's ready to serve - you can have it with sauce or karappodi.
